SUALY SOSA, MD

Native from Cuba, Dr. Sosa graduated summa cum laude and received her Doctorate in Medicine from the Havana University of Medical Sciences, Cuba in 1998. She subsequently trained in Cardiovascular Medicine at the Institute of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery in Havana. She moved to Miami Florida in 2005 with her family, willing to start all over again.

Dr. Sosa completed her Internal Medicine residency at New York Downtown Hospital, affiliated with Weill Medical College of Cornell in New York, 2011. She recently finished her Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, on June 2015. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2011, American Board of Echocardiography in 2014 and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Medicine in 2016.

Her interests include preventive Cardiology, women’s health, cardiac imaging such as, transthoracic/transesophageal echocardiography, Coronary CT angiography, vascular studies and nuclear Cardiology with special interest in cardiac PET and myocardial strain. Dr. Sosa was fellowship-trained in Cardiac PET by Dr. Lance Gould, a world-renowned expert in this field.

Her outside interests include traveling, outdoor activities and ballet. She enjoys spending time with her family.
