Dr. Allen was born in Maryland, in the suburbs of Washington D.C. He completed his undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College. After internships at the National Institutes of Health and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center he moved to Philadelphia to start his medical training. He was awarded his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in 2009, and then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 2012. He went on to pursue training in Cardiology at the University of Michigan, where he completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases in 2015, and an advanced fellowship in Interventional Cardiology in 2016.

Dr. Allen is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is board-certified in Interventional Cardiology, has passed the American Society of Echocardiography board examination, and is certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Dr. Allen’s interests include coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, percutaneous treatment of structural heart disease, consultative cardiology, transesophageal echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
