ISRAEL GUERRERO, MD, FACC

Dr. Guerrero was born in Havana, Cuba. He received his medical degree from Havana University of Medical Sciences, Cuba in 1997. In 2002 he fulfilled a fellowship in Cardiology at the National Institute of Cardiology in Havana, followed by a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at San Carlos Hospital in Madrid, Spain in 2005. The same year, he moved with his family to the USA. In 2011, he completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at New York Downtown Hospital, affiliated with Weill Medical College of Cornell in New York. He subsequently completed a Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He served as chief fellow from 2013 to 2014 and remained at the University of Texas for an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship that he finished in 2015.
Dr. Guerrero is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is also board certified in Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Guerrero’s interests include cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty and stenting, peripheral vascular disease, transesophageal echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Guerrero enjoys traveling, outdoor activities and photography.
